Meet the Frantic Fueler Team
Dave Daunheimer, Owner/Driver
Dave Daunheimer is the sole proprietor of Competition Fabrications. Dave builds custom cars, racing chassis and modifies production automobiles for racing applications. Dave, known as “Dragster Dave”, created the Frantic Fueler as his first entry into AA Top Fuel front engine drag racing. He has the final say in all decisions regarding the management of the Frantic Fueler. Dave’s been building race cars and drag racing them most of his adult life. Few in the profession surpass his knowledge of chassis construction and technology.
Scott Anderson, Crew Chief
Scott has been consumed with drag racing for over thirty years, learning every aspect of the sport from tire wiper to owner/driver. During his tenure, Scott has served on crews for Fred Mandoline, Randy Parks and Steve Cady. As Crew Chief on the Frantic Fueler, Scott depends on members of the team to fulfill their duties to bring the Frantic Fueler home safely. Scott is responsible for team logistics, driving the tow rig, and team publicity. Once at the race track he helps set up the pit space, coordinates racecar information with track announcers and does pre-race car preparation. Scott’s duties consist of left side motor work, clutch setup and driveline.
Betsy Daunheimer, Crew Member
Betsy Daunheimer is a part time employee of the Natural Garden retail plant supplier. She is a retired employee of Lucent Technologies. Betsy’s been part of the Frantic Fueler team from the very beginning. She maintains the crew’s formal track apparel and dresses driver and husband Dave as he prepares for the race. Betsy manages the team’s pit sales and also keeps the crew well fed, preparing sandwiches, snacks and soda. She’s an Illinois Master Gardener and has landscaped her home with a professional’s eye.
Don Daunheimer, Crew Member
Don Daunheimer is a happily retired foreman for Illinois Bell. Don has been an integral part of the Frantic Fueler crew since it’s inception. Don’s primary responsibility is the driver of the tow vehicle around the track, to and from the pit area. He also helps in all facets of pit activities including setup, take down and pit management. Don has been a car enthusiast all his life passing his love of cars to his favorite son, Dave.

Paul Fredricks, Crew Member
Paul Fredricks has been a professional computer programmer for over 25 years. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from MSOE. Paul joined the Frantic Fueler team in 2000. His main responsibilities include managing the car’s data acquisition system from configuration, maintenance and repair to historical performance analysis. Paul’s analysis includes tracking of fuel management, configuration change to performance and component utilization. An owner of a 1984 Turbo Buick Grand national, Paul is working on the blueprint rebuild of a second engine for that car. Paul is an avid skier.
Jim Gorecki, Crew Member
Jim Gorecki has been an automotive technician for 30 years. He is the sole proprietor of an automotive repair shop for the past 21 years. Jim joined the Frantic Fueler team in 2002. His main responsibilities are managing the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, engine bearings, starting at the line, packing the parachutes & launching tee-shirts. He’s been happily married for 25 years, has three children ages 21, 18 & 14. Jim owns a ’70 Firebird with a 427 supercharged-engine that will hopefully soon be on the track.
Eric Machin, Crew Member
Eric Machin is a service representative of a mid-western company that manufactures bar code readers. Eric joined the Frantic Fueler crew in 1999 and shares the general pit responsibilities where needed. He is happily married and has a newborn son.

Dale Williams, Crew Member
Dale Williams is a professional multi-media designer for Ernst & Young in Cleveland, Ohio. Dale, known as “AA Dale” is the newest member who joined the team after winning the “crew member for a day” promotion by the Cruisin’ Times Magazine and Norwalk Raceway Park in 2004. Dale provides general crew help while learning the pit crew ropes. Involved with street rods for over 30 years, and recently building a frame up 1948 Pro Street Anglia. The need for more room for his wife and two kids, the Anglia was sold and replaced with a 1946 Ford coupe street rod.
