ImageThat saying is usually reserved for a blushing bride and her grab bag of goodies before she heads down the isle toward wedded bliss. Well, it will also have special meaning for the Spectrum Illumination Frantic Fueler this season. Dragster Dave and the crew will be starting our 10th season of Nostalgia Top Fuel racing, I guess that makes us old, but we are going into it with a renewed competitive spirit. Dave has spent MANY hours working on some new sheet metal, a new paint scheme and alot of conversations to make the Frantic car quicker and faster. We completely disassembled the car, polished a bunch of stuff, painted some and even got some parts CHROMED! I have to say the car is going to look awsome, our friends at Hirata's will shoot the cool new color scheme on her new body. We are looking forward to heading to Lane Automotive for the annual Memorial Day show in May. Then about a week later we head to the Robot and Vision show to meet up with Big Dave and the Spectrum Illumination group, who are rolling out some new products as well.

As it should come as no surprise to anyone, the Nostalgia Funny Car movement is in FULL SWING here in the Midwest, as history repeats itself (AGAIN!). There are a bunch of races pointed directly at the Funny Cars which is great, I guess. As I look at the potential schedule for the funny guys, I can't help but think how great it's going to be for the economy. All these teams running around trying hard to qualify, and dare we think it, actually win a round of racing. They will be scattering aluminum scrap all around the midwest, by the second event half of them won't have enough parts or money to go to the next event. Remember these teams (most) don't have Force's budget, or resources (read: MONEY), nor will you get paid Force's money to race that many events.

Hey, the dragster guys aren't without issues either, I have HEARD alot of guys say I'm a Nostalgia Top Fuel guy and I have this dragster that runs on NITRO. Well, that may be but if your car burns nitro and you haven't run quicker than 6.3 you are NOT trying hard enough. WE (nitro guys) owe it the fans, sponsors and race tracks to look our best, be PROFESSIONAL and run as hard as possible to the finish line. Regardless if it's a Funny Car or Slingshot if your running NITRO, bring it, THEY deserve your best.

C' ya out there.
